Following a SAP Brazil invitation, Renato Santos wrote a series of 5 articles for the SAP Forum on the types and profiles of companies which might benefit of a “digital nervous system” – the expression used by American billionaire Bill Gates to designate the ERPs, the enterprise resource planning software.
Without ever speaking of software, hardware or ICT, the articles analyze the different types of small and medium companies, and demonstrate in which stages and business moments automatizing the processes might become a competitive advantage. Highlighting that the majority of entrepreneurs does not assess properly the appropriate moment to make the switch – usually giving in situations of pressure or lack of control to install ERPs – the articles demonstrate that it is possible to identify, plan and install such systems before the need becomes out of control and disturbs business performance.
